You are not obligated to respond

When you get a ticket in the mail, You should not do anything with it. It is only send to you to see if you will respond. In other words, dupe you into thinking you have to pay the fine. That’s what they really want you to do. All the City wants is you money and they want to do as little at first to try and get it. Just remember you are not obligated to respond to any fine send to you via the mail. In other word just toss it in the trash as it’s not worth the paper it’s printed on.

Register you car in your spouse’s or company name.

I know this sounds a bit shady and drastic, but so isn’t photo radar and traffic cameras. One way, people seem to be avoiding the camera fines is having the car registered under their wife or husband’s name or company name. In Arizona the companies that process the photo tickets have to identify the drive. It is impossible to I identify the driver when it is registered to the company as a company does not have a driving record. If the driver of the car is female and the car is registered to a male the ticket will be void as they cannot adequately identify the driver. In many cases you will receive a letter in the mail letting you know the city or state wants to issue a ticket. They would like you to identify the driver of your vehicle. You are not bound by any law to do so.

Don’t give up the driver.

As said in the last section. You are not bound by any law to give up any information as to who was diving the car. Courts may ask you to give up this information. They may seem very intimidating when they do. The companies that issue the tickets, along with the city are responsible for doing that. If you identify the driver, you are only doing their work. If you think your going to get a ticket in a rental car contact the rental company and let them know they do not have your permission to give out your name. As they are also not bound by any law to do so too.

Process Server will be knocking on your door.

Some websites report that Municipalities only scare you with the idea that a person will be knocking at your door to serve you a photo ticket. In fact that is far from the truth. As someone who has had a run in with a Process Server, I know for a fact that they are out there and come at very strange times. It can be very strange if not scary to have someone knock on your door and ask your last name. Word to the wise, "don’t say anything to someone you don’t know" Sometimes they come up and ask you just your last name, or if this is the "such and such residents." Just say "No" and don’t answer any more questions. Tell them to leave your property. (Hint) They may keep coming back to try and trip you up to just saying your last know or if you know the person in question. Be on the lookout for about 120days. I got a server at my house at 8:30pm on a Sunday. They will come at any time they think they can serve you.

Improper service.

If you feel like you were improperly served for a ticket. You can file a complaint against the Process Server. You can find the form to do so at www.photoradarlaw.com and click under forms. Process Servers are required to server the ticket properly. They singe an affidavit stating the service was completed in the appropriate manner. "ARS22-1513B"

The ticket cannot be left at your doorstep, on your car etc. It must be handed to a legal adult. If the service was done improperly and was said to be served correctly via affidavit the Process Server has just perjured them self. Be prepared to present your case to the court. Have a witness that can confirm your whereabouts at the time of service. Do not be afraid to contact a local Attorney.
